Cevap

QUESTION TWO (15 Marks)(a) The Kenyan society is increasingly stratified due to various factors such as economic inequality, political instability, and social discrimination. To encourage upward social mobility, the government can implement policies that promote equal opportunities for all citizens, invest in education and healthcare, and promote inclusive economic growth.(b) The role of government in influencing the development of a state is crucial. Governments can implement policies that promote economic growth, provide public goods and services, maintain law and order, and foster social cohesion. For example, in Kenya, the government has played a significant role in promoting economic growth through infrastructure development and attracting foreign investment.(a) Power is indeed a necessary ingredient in development. In Africa, the influence of power in resource distributions has been significant. For instance, in countries like Nigeria and Angola, the concentration of power in the hands of a few individuals or groups has led to unequal distribution of oil revenues, resulting in economic disparities and social tensions.(b) The challenges in achieving national cohesion and integration in Kenya include ethnic tensions, political polarization, and regional disparities. These challenges require concerted efforts from the government and citizens to promote dialogue, inclusivity, and equitable distribution of resources.QUESTION THREE (15 MARKS)(a) Modern-day nationalism has taught us the importance of self-determination, the need for national unity, and the significance of cultural identity. It has also highlighted the challenges of balancing national interests with global integration.(b) Overreliance on foreign aid can have negative consequences for a country's development. It can create dependency, hinder the growth of domestic industries, and lead to unsustainable economic practices. In Kenya, overreliance on foreign aid has resulted in a lack of investment in domestic industries and a reliance on donor funding for development projects.
