We quickly realized that personal selling is successful for some things. but not all things. In this discussion, you'll list five products either you or your parents bought that entailed personal selling. You'll also list five products that either you or your parents have bought that personal selling just wouldn't work. For all ten, you'll give me a reason why that did or did not work for your specific purchase. You'll then respond to one other person with comparison or contrasts.

Personal selling is a form of direct marketing where a salesperson interacts directly with a potential customer to persuade them to buy a product or service. It can be effective for certain types of products, but not all.

Here are five products that I or my parents have bought that involved personal selling:

1. Cars: Personal selling is often used in the car industry, where salespeople can provide detailed information about the features and benefits of a particular model. This can be helpful for customers who are unsure about which car to buy.
2. Vacuums: Salespeople can demonstrate the features and benefits of a vacuum cleaner, such as its suction power and attachments, which can be persuasive for customers.
3. Mattresses: Salespeople can provide information about the materials and construction of a mattress, as well as its comfort level and support, which can be helpful for customers who are looking for a specific type of mattress.
4. Jewelry: Salespeople can show customers the craftsmanship and quality of a piece of jewelry, as well as its value and rarity, which can be persuasive for customers.
5. Home appliances: Salespeople can demonstrate the features and benefits of a home appliance, such as its energy efficiency or smart technology, which can be helpful for customers who are looking for a specific type of appliance.

Here are five products that either I or my parents have bought that personal selling just wouldn't work:

1. Groceries: Personal selling is not typically used in grocery stores, as customers are usually looking for a quick and convenient shopping experience.
2. Clothing: Personal selling is not typically used in clothing stores, as customers are usually looking for a wide selection of styles and sizes to choose from.
3. Electronics: Personal selling is not typically used in electronics stores, as customers are usually looking for a wide selection of products and brands to choose from.
4. Toys: Personal selling is not typically used in toy stores, as customers are usually looking for a wide selection of products and brands to choose from.
5. Household items: Personal selling is not typically used in stores that sell household items, as customers are usually looking for a wide selection of products and brands to choose from.

In conclusion, personal selling can be effective for certain types of products, but not all. It can be helpful for customers who are looking for detailed information about a product or who are looking for a specific type of product. However, it may not be suitable for customers who are looking for a quick and convenient shopping experience or who are looking for a wide selection of products and brands to choose from.
